Lathe Addition

A recent 2008 addition to the Mid-America Manufacturing tool room is a Romi M27x80 combination lathe.  This machine is fully CNC, but can also be operated manually when appropriate.  With a 27" swing and 80" between centers it gives us much larger turning capacity .   The geared headstock reaches full HP (30) at 56RPM and has 2800 ft-lbs of torque allowing for heavy cutting .   It provides our tool room with the ability to do larger parts and more complex geometries, as well as greatly increased productivity on multi-part projects or repeat jobs.
