CNC Operator / Trainee
2nd & 3rd Shift

Seeking people experienced in the setup and operation of CNC lathes, vertical machining centers, and horizontal machining centers. Ability to read prints and use various gages is also necessary. Positions may require some programming and/or program debug if qualified. Experience with Okuma OSP & Fanuc controls is beneficial, but not required. We will train capable candidates.

GENERAL LABOR

1ST, 2ND, 3RD SHIFT

General shop duties consisting of a variety of responsibilities such as running basic machines (saws, drills, etc.), simple maintenance, cleaning and painting equipment, janitorial work, pick up and deliveries, general shop housekeeping, etc.  Qualifications are a good mechanical aptitude, a strong work ethic and the desire to learn and grow.  Opportunity for advancement.

Toolmakers/Toolroom Machinists
OFF- Shift

Community College or apprenticeship graduates or individuals with the equivalent in experience as a toolmaker or toolroom machinist. Will have challenging projects involving the build of jigs, fixtures, gages, prototype parts and special equipment. Should be capable of working with minimum instruction and independently or with co-workers to complete projects according to reasonable time estimates and established delivery schedules. Duties may include using skills to build new, repair, or perform routine maintenance of such items used in the production area at Mid-America Manufacturing or for sale to various customers.

MANAGER OF TOOL DESIGN & ENGINEERING SERVICES

1ST SHIFT

This individual will manage a tool design department and a tool room.  Direct reports will include tool designers and toolmakers. Seeking an individual with tool design experience (various jigs, fixtures, gages, and machines) and experience or knowledge of tool build/machining practices.  Hands-on machining experience would be a plus as would experience with Solid Works.  Position involves sales related customer contact, project quoting, design concepts, some actual designing when necessary and as time allows, checking designs, coordinating the build of new designs and other tool room projects not designed in-house.  Design projects can be tooling for our production area also.  This person would have to order materials and work with outside vendors as required.  Requires a minimum 2-year technical degree and considerable experience in a manufacturing/machine shop environment with exposure to GD&T, and hydraulics/pneumatics applications.  Also requires good oral and written communication skills and experience in Word, Excel and Outlook.

TOOL DESIGNER
1ST Shift

Requires experience in designing and detailing of various jigs, fixtures, gages, and machines using Solid Works 2008.  Prefer individual with 2-year technical degree and experience in a manufacturing/machine shop environment, GD&T, and hydraulics/pneumatics.  Responsibilities include preparing drawings for customer approval, shop sketches, BOM’s and hydraulic schematics.  Individual should also have good oral and written communication skills and be experienced in Word, Excel and Outlook.

MAINTENANCE REPAIR TECHNICIAN
OFF- Shift

Seeking an individual experienced in troubleshooting machine problems and making necessary repairs.  Electrical & mechanical experience is preferred.  Will have responsibility for both mechanical equipment and the latest in CNC machines (machining centers and lathes).  Will also be responsible for regular preventative maintenance, equipment installations and moves, routine building repairs and maintenance and supply management.  This is an off-first shift position that could consist of flex hours during 2nd & 3rd shift plant operations.
